I am very excited that this year’s Mid-Atlantic Group Psychotherapy meeting will be held in Charlottesville, and hope this is the beginning of a long and fruitful series of fall conferences here. This is the perfect time of year to come to Charlottesville to see the beautiful fall colors.
The Darden School where we will be holding the conference is located on the grounds of the University of Virginia. It is next to the law school and Jag school. There will be maps available of the University grounds at registration. Some of you may wish to spend your free time wandering around the beautiful campus.
If you would like to enjoy the fall colors, one possibility would be to take a drive on route 250 west towards Staunton, Virginia. Another activity that would be fun is to go to the downtown mall for lunch in one of the outdoor cafes and wander around looking at the shops.
There are some websites I would recommend if you want to learn more about what there is to do in Charlottesville before you get here. You should check out visitcharlottesville.org, CharlottesvilleWelcomeBook.com and you.travel/charlottesville. The UVA Faculty and Staff guide also has some great information about the area: virginia.edu/facultystaffguide/
Enjoy your stay and I look forward to seeing you at the fall meetings.
