Addiction is a disease of isolation. Recovery occurs in groups. Group psycotherapy and mutual support groups are the ideal combination of group experiences to foster recovery from addiction. This conference will demonstrate experientially the use of the group-as-a-whole in supporting recovery from addiction.
Guest Presenter: Dr. Jeffrey D. Roth is an addictions psychiatrist and group psychotherapist. He graduated from Yale University Medical School and did his residency in psychiatry at the University of Chicago. He is board certified in addictions medicine by the American Society of Addictions Medicine (ASAM). He is the past-president of the Chicago Center for the Stufy of Groups and Organizations, a Fellow of ASAM and a Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Association. He is the author of the book Group Psychotherapy and Recovery from Addiction: Carrying the Message and the editor of the Journal of Groups in Addiction and Recovery.
